Free Fishing RodeoJune 9, 2018
June is National Fishing Month. The Parks and Recreation Department in partnership with Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) hosts a Free Fishing Rodeo for children 14 years of age and under at J. Travis Price Park. Participants must bring all fishing gear and bait - (no artificial lures allowed). TWRA stocks the pond with catfish, bream, sunfish and other small fish for the event.
Registration begins at 6:30 AM. Help youth begin an activity of a lifetime.

Freedom Celebration & Fireworks Wednesday, July 4, 2018Enjoy the free fireworks show at J. Travis Price Park, 4155 Wilks Rd, Springfield. Gates open at 4:00 PM.
Sunset Concert SeriesIn the event of rain, the bands will move to the 638 Building at Hey Belle.
New this year on Fridays! May 4 Summer Sunset Concert Rescheduled for September 7.
Enjoy the sounds of Summer at the free Sunset Concerts. Bring the family, meet your friends the first Friday of each month May-August. Concerts will be on Main St. in front of the Court House, easy parking, level ground for dancing, restaurants open. Kick off the series with Texas recording artist Howard Decker & the Cosmic Cowboys featuring Country Western boot scootin' fun. Buzzy Poole & the Fortunate Sons classics of the '60s, '70s, '80s, & '90s. Dance to Red Light 11's great dance music. For the first time in Springfield, the World Famous Channel Cats talented group will finish the summer with Blues & Rock of the past.
Admission is free for this event. Follow the lighted trails at J. Travis Price Park to enjoy the festive holiday scenes, decorations, music and maybe catch a glimpse of Santa Claus. This event is best by following the lighted trails. You will still be amazed by viewing from your vehicle if you are unable to follow the path.
