SPRINGFIELD, Tenn. -- The City of Springfield is pleased to announce the hiring of Clay Moore as the new Director of Public Works. Moore replaces Allan Ellis who retired in June after more than 28 years with the City of Springfield.
Moore, an engineer and former Director of Public Works, has over 14 years of experience in both private and public sectors. He is a graduate of the University of Mississippi, with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
“We are happy to welcome Clay Moore to our team,” said City Manager Gina Holt. “His background in public works is extensive, and I have full faith in his ability to lead the department and to provide excellent public service.”
The Springfield Public Works department consists of four departments: Street, Sanitation, Storm Water Management, and Vehicle Maintenance.
Moore will begin his work with the City of Springfield in January 2020.
