Springfield parks to reopen; playgrounds, athletic fields, and other park facilities remain closed

SPRINGFIELD, Tenn. – The City of Springfield continues to follow Governor Lee’s guidelines and phased reopening plan for the State of Tennessee.  City parks will reopen to the public on Tuesday, May 12, 2020. These include Martin Luther King, Jr. Park, Garner Street Park, and J. Travis Price Park.

The walking track, open spaces, dog park, and tennis courts will be available for use. Playgrounds, athletic fields, and pavilions remain closed.

Park visitors are encouraged to follow CDC guidelines which include social distancing and wearing masks or facial coverings. 

Youth sports and leagues remain postponed. The Free Fishing Rodeo is still scheduled to take place Saturday, June 6, 2020, at J. Travis Price Park, with participants appropriately distanced.
